Healthy Pizzeria Style Pizza Recipe

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough: (adapted from Di0nne’s pizza dough recipe)
  • 1 c. white whole wheat flour
  • 7g pkg active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp honey or blue agave
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 T olive oil
  • Pizza Sauce:
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/4 lemon
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 T. basil
  • 1 T. oregano
  • 1 T garlic, minced or 1/2 T garlic powder
  • 1/2 T crushed red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp honey or blue agave

  • 8 oz shredded low-fat mozz
  • 1/2 c parmesan
  • 1 pkg turkey pepperoni
  • 1/2 c sliced mushrooms
  • **And any other toppings you like. (I made mine 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni because my children won’t eat toppings)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, yeast and salt in medium bowl.
  2. Add honey and warm water.
  3. Mix until well blended (if dough is sticky add more flour).
  4. Fold in olive oil and knead on floured surface until soft dough-like texture.
  5. Grease pizza pan and stretch dough to fit pan.
  6. Bake dough at 450F for 5 min, until slightly golden.
  7. Meanwhile, mix pizza sauce ingredients until well blended.
  8. Remove crust from oven and turn down temp. to 375F.
  9. Top crust with sauce, cheese and toppings.
  10. Bake until cheese is completely melted, about 20 min.
